OIC Philadelphia Celebrates the Class of 2026

An Evening of Perseverance, Community, and New Beginnings

The spirit of celebration filled the room as OIC Philadelphia welcomed graduates, families, partners, and supporters to its 2026 Alumni Commencement Celebration. More than a ceremony, the evening served as a heartfelt reminder of what can happen when people are given the opportunity, support, and a community that believes in them.

Hosted by Chief Learning Officer Ayanna Washington, the celebration began with an alumni walk-in as graduates entered to applause from loved ones and supporters. From the very beginning, the energy in the room reflected pride, resilience, and hope for the future.

Honoring Growth and Achievement

Board Chairman Steven Scott Bradley welcomed guests by recognizing the dedication it took for each graduate to reach this milestone. His remarks highlighted the courage of individuals who balanced work, family responsibilities, and personal challenges while remaining committed to their goals.

Graduates from OIC Philadelphia’s Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Green Jobs, and Healthcare programs were honored throughout the evening, each crossing the stage as family and friends cheered them on.

A particularly meaningful moment came from SaQuanna Daniels, who reminded graduates that they were not simply completing a program — they were becoming part of a lifelong community through the OIC Philadelphia Alumni Network.

Inspiring Voices from the Community

Philadelphia artist and entrepreneur Leslie “Freeway” Pridgen delivered encouraging remarks that resonated deeply with the audience. Speaking about opportunity, discipline, and believing in yourself, Freeway celebrated the graduates for finishing what they started and continuing to push forward.

The evening also recognized outstanding alumni through the Sullivan Champion Award and the Moving Mountains Award. Board Member Mable Ellis Welborn presented the Sullivan Champion Award to Digital Media alum Nicole Williams, honoring her leadership, impact, and commitment to excellence. Board Member Ben Fileccia presented the Moving Mountains Award to Culinary Arts alum Zanay Pralour, recognizing her extraordinary determination and resilience in overcoming obstacles throughout her journey.

A Lasting Connection

The celebration concluded with a moving alumni pinning ceremony as graduates proudly placed their alumni pins over their hearts, officially marking their induction into the OIC Philadelphia Alumni Network. Surrounded by applause from family, friends, staff, and supporters, the moment symbolized not only personal achievement but a lifelong connection to a community built on empowerment and opportunity.

The evening closed with inspiring remarks from Sheila Ireland, who reminded graduates that OIC Philadelphia will always remain a place where they belong. Her heartfelt message celebrated the journeys of every alumnus while encouraging them to continue building brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

The message of the evening was simple but powerful: OIC Philadelphia is more than a training institution — it is a family, a network, and a community that continues long after graduation day.
