Juanita's path to success wasn't without obstacles. Following a brief stint at YouthBuild, she faced a disheartening period of dropping out. Amidst the fog of uncertainty, a serendipitous encounter within the corridors of OIC Philadelphia altered the course of her life.
Curiosity led Juanita to the discovery of the HiSet/HS equivalency program—a newfound opportunity that would ignite her determination. Enrolling in the program, Juanita discovered a sanctuary of support, particularly crucial as she navigated impending motherhood alongside her educational pursuits. In her own words, she expresses, "[OIC Philadelphia is] awesome… like hitting a home run."
As Juanita embarked on her educational voyage, she found access facilitated by the Broad St Line and train connections. Acknowledging the need for enhanced digital literacy skills, OIC Philadelphia took proactive steps to bridge this knowledge gap, elevating her overall learning experience.
In the intimacy of smaller classroom settings, Juanita found solace and empowerment. Nevertheless, her journey was far from unchallenging, as she balanced the responsibilities of motherhood with her academic pursuits. Yet, Juanita's vision remains crystal clear—fueled by her aspirations in branding and marketing, she's embarking on a journey of exploring entrepreneurship to secure a brighter future for herself and her family.
