North Broad Renaissance Appoints Two New Board of Directors
PHILADELPHIA, PA (July 5, 2023) – The North Broad Renaissance (NBR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoff Gordon and Sheila Ireland to the NBR Board of Directors.
Geoff Gordon is the President of Live Nation Northeast. Two of his most recent achievements are the restoration of The Met Philadelphia, which has ignited a resurgence in North Philadelphia, and the creation of Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia. Additionally, Gordon works closely with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) in Atlantic City, NJ, on the Atlantic City Beach concert series, which has brought in over an estimated $50 million in non-gaming revenue and drew over 250,000 fans since the series began in 2014. He has been an advocate of North Broad Renaissance since opening The Met Philadephia in 2018.
Sheila Ireland took the helm as the President and CEO of Philadelphia OIC and its for-profit affiliate Progressive Ventures, Inc. Since 1964 Philadelphia OIC has led the fight for social justice and economic empowerment utilizing workforce development as its operational strategy to level the playing field for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable citizens.
“These new board members join a group of leaders committed to vitalizing the community, creating opportunities, and improving the economic power and overall quality of life along North Broad Street,” said Board Chairman, Dr. Kenneth Scott. “We have worked diligently to ensure that inclusive development remains a key part of our DNA and are happy to welcome leaders that will help us accomplish these goals."
The new board members start their three-year term on July 1, 2023, and will join the current Board of Directors, which include:
