On our third floor, hammers are swinging, and walls are going up to bring OIC Studios to life — a 3,500 square foot, state-of-the-art creative space designed to do something Philadelphia's media landscape has long needed: put authentic voices at the center of the story.
OIC Studios isn't just a studio. It's a statement.
For decades, OIC Philadelphia has invested in people — connecting individuals to job training, education, and economic opportunity. OIC Studios is an extension of that same mission, but with a new medium. Because in today's world, who tells your story matters just as much as the story itself. Media shapes perception. Visibility shapes opportunity. And for too long, the communities we serve have been spoken about rather than spoken for.
This space changes that.
At the heart of OIC Studios is a bold new initiative: "Voices of Philadelphia."
Designed to develop diverse storytellers and brand messengers, the program addresses a critical and persistent gap in the media and public relations landscape. Too many narratives about Philadelphia's communities — especially communities of color and working-class neighborhoods — are filtered through voices that don't reflect the lived experience, culture, or perspective of those communities.
Voices of Philadelphia is built to close that gap.
By cultivating emerging creatives, digital media professionals, and brand messengers who bring authenticity to their craft, the initiative will create a pipeline of talent that doesn't just participate in media — it reshapes it. These are storytellers who know these neighborhoods because they grew up in them. Who understand the richness of this city because they live it every day.
When OIC Studios opens its doors, it will serve as a creative hub for participants in our digital media program, community partners, and organizations that need space — and support — to share their stories with real impact.
From production to storytelling development, the space is being built for the full creative process: ideation, creation, refinement, and amplification. Whether it's a podcast, a short film, a social media campaign, or a full-scale media production, OIC Studios will be equipped to make it happen.
This is infrastructure for influence. And infrastructure matters.
We're still in the construction phase, and there's work ahead. But we're already excited about what's coming — and who's coming with it.
OIC Studios represents a new chapter for our organization and for the communities we've been proud to serve for more than 50 years. It's proof that opportunity doesn't just live in a classroom or a job placement — it lives in the power to shape your own narrative.
